Fr. Humberto Márquez, Pastor
Fr. Daniel Ciucci, Parochial Vicar
I was born in Idaho in 1988, and grew up in Boulder where I attended Foothills Elementary, Sacred Heart of Jesus for middle school, and Fairview High School. I have a business degree from CU Boulder. I am the oldest of three boys. One of my brothers lives in Washington state and the other is in New York
I decided to enter seminary while I was in college. I knew I wanted to be a priest because I came to trust in God, who kept placing the notion on my heart from the time I was in the 8th grade. I was afraid that I wouldn’t be happy, but He gave me great grace to trust in Him. I went to St. John Vianney Seminary in Denver, and was ordained a priest on May 13, 2017. My favorite thing about being a priest is being a conduit of God’s pardon and peace during confession
In my spare time I love to cook. I also enjoy hiking and skiing. I am very happy and excited to be here at St. John the Baptist. I very much like that this parish sings strongly and well. I hope that continues to be strengthened. It will be a great grace for me to learn how to be a priest here in this community. It is my hope that we as a parish grow in devotion to our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.
Please call me Fr. Daniel.
Deacon Mike (Michael) Berens
I was born and raised in Iowa. I met my wife Sue in New York where we both were working with developmentally disabled people. We have two girls, Dore and Jessie. We moved to Colorado in 1987. I am now retired after 25 years in the software engineering profession.
In 2003, I was ordained a permanent deacon for the Archdiocese of Denver. I love Christ’s Church and am blessed to serve so many wonderful, generous, and loving people at St. John’s who by their living out their faith greatly help me on my journey.
