Confirmation

“Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent them Peter and John, who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.For He had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they began laying their hands on them, and they were receiving the Holy Spirit.

Adult Confirmation

Children’s Confirmation

St. John’s is a parish that practices the Restored Order of the Sacraments of Initiation.  How child achieves that is by preparing and experiencing their First Penance in the second grade then moves on to prepare and receive both their Confirmation and First Holy Communion in the third.

Sponsors

A sponsor’s role is to walk with the the person their sponsoring as they prepare for the sacrament of Confirmation, to help him or her understand the way of Christ and the Church, and to serve as a model of what it means to be a person committed to journeying in in the way of Christ. Sponsors are guides, role models, and witnesses to Christ. As such, a sponsor has the responsibility and requirement of being active members of the Church who are living witnesses of their faith.

Lost your confirmation certificate and need a replacement?

If you were confirmed at St. John’s, you may request a new copy of your confirmation certificate. Please note there is a $10 replacement fee, and the certificate can only be requested by the person who was confirmed, or their parent if the confirmandi is a minor.
